The KISD Board Policies Need to Be Changed!!!
KISD STUDENTS AND KISD PARENTS!! Sign this petition and support the want and need for change in the board’s policies. Movements and matters regarding race and identity should never be deemed as “controversial” or “political”.
KISD NEEDS TO BE ANIT-RACIST
The KISD 2021-2022 School Code of Conduct clearly states on page 2, "Keller ISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sex, disability, or age..." So why are these reoccurring problems? In recent years here at Timber Creek, we have faced many issues in regards to racial discrimination. The KISD Board members have not been consistent in the ways that they have been handling and addressing these problems. We are petitioning to put an end to this racial injustice and make our schools "anti-racist," not just "non-racist." There is a big difference between the two. Timber Creek likes to stay "neutral" on any political manner. Tell me why the value of black lives is considered to be political to the Admin? Why are the teachers not allowed to promote something that gives comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere to our black students? Why does the school and the board not address the constant racism that exists in our school? Why do they do little to nothing about it? Why are many students who are not POC getting away with racial discrimination, like saying slurs, cyberbullying, calling POC terrorist's, etc.?!? The way that racism is tolerated needs to be stopped. NOW. We demand KISD to be anti-racist, and work to provide a safe and comfortable place for everyone.
Support the Teacher who Supports BLM
A teacher was put on administrative leave for having a BLM poster in their room. What about supporting black lives and choosing to emphasize the safety of their room for black students is deserving of this? BLACK LIVES MATTER. There’s no argument or controversy. Help me help the teacher that needs tremendous support right now and share everywhere you can.
